NEPN/NSBA Code: EEAF-R MSAD #37 POLICY SPECIAL USE OF BUSES – PROCEDURES
It is the purpose of this regulation to stabilize the use of school buses by non-school, community organizations and assure control over the use of buses. Buses shall be used only when available and such use will not render a hardship to the School District’s transportation program. Buses may be used by community-sponsored organizations which are recreational or educational in nature. Buses shall be used only by nonprofit, non-commercial groups or organizations. Buses may be used only by out-of-school organizations with open membership, in compliance with the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Organizations permitted use of buses shall assume the responsibility to pay all usual expenses, including the fee of the bus driver who must be an employed bus driver in MSAD #37. Organizations permitted to use buses shall comply with all operating procedures presented by MSAD #37 and are in accord with State and Municipal Law, and shall adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
