NEW BUDGET APPROVAL PROCESS
Posted by dfickett on Tuesday, May 06 @ Eastern Daylight Time (10 reads)
MSAD #37 School Board Information
ATTENTION

VOTERS OF SAD #37
2008-2009 NEW BUDGET APPROVAL PROCESS

You will receive your annual district budget book containing the recommended budget as approved by the Board of Directors’ just as always.  The book will contain the new process.

WHAT IS THE NEW PROCESS?

On May 21st at 7:00 p.m. at Narraguagus High School, the annual District Budget Meeting will be held.

The voters present will set the amounts for 6 cost centers as well as the revenue articles.  If you should reduce or increase any of the 6 cost centers (in the past this has been ONE total amount), then the local additional (over EPS) revenue article is increased or decreased, and cuts or additions are made to the budget in the specific cost center affected.  You DO NOT approve the budget at this district meeting.  Your attendance and participation are essential!

WHEN DO YOU VOTE?

On Tuesday, May 27th, you will go to YOUR Town Office and vote a simple YES or NO whether to approve the entire budget or not.  Information will be posted at each town location showing you the Board of Directors’ recommendation for each cost center and revenue article and what those present at the District Budget Meeting set as the amount to raise for each cost center.

The VOTE will pass by a simple majority of the total votes cast across the entire district.  We encourage you all to get out and vote.  If you are not available on May 27th you can vote by absentee ballot by contacting your town office.

Should the budget fail, this process will begin all over again!

Questions—contact the Superintendent’s Office at 483-2734 or dfickett@sad37.org.

President, Class of "67 (Editor of Yearbook "67)
Posted by husseyb on Friday, December 14 @ Eastern Standard Time (172 reads)
Narraguagus High School news Randy writes "Recently the class of '67 ( the first graduating class of Narraguagus High School) held its 40th reunion. At that gathering we contributed to the purchase of a small, simple plaque to commemorate our class. Our hope was to have the plaque placed in Narraguagus High School.

Let me tell you a little bit about us.

In 1967 there was no building as you know it today. After the towns had voted in favor of forming an administrative district, we were pulled from our small high schools to spend our final year in a conglomeration where the juniors and seniors attended classes in Milbridge and the freshmen and sophomores went to Cherryfield.

We did our part but have never felt that we were recognized by either our former schools or by Narraguagus, It was us who named the Squire. It was us who chose the knight. It was us who chose burgundy. It was us who did not attend at "the building." And it is us who have always felt to be outcasts without an anchor.

It is our hope that if we can place this small plaque it will help to connect us to our alma mater. Even though it is of our own making perhaps it will lend some recognition to the pioneering we did.
